Most of us are living our lives on automatic, like some piece of driftwood at the whim of the waves and tides around it. We need to discover real freedom by breaking out of the prison of our individual thinking which many times is the thinking of the world around us that we have accepted without question. Many of us fool ourselves that conscious mind is all we need to succeed.
Conscious thoughts are 10% of our minds capacity. The other 90%, the subjective or subconscious mind, is creating the life we are living ... aimlessly without a plan if we do not understand the metaphysics in operation.
Metaphysicians are taught that our lives and how they play out are the result of what we think. But are such statements as simple as they first sound? Does one single thought change what is outwardly happening in our lives? One single isolated thought rarely creates our reality. Our conscious thought builds a pattern or filter in subconscious thought; this in turn filters the creative field so that form (how our lives "play out") is produced from our subjective mind.
Not recognizing this, many people try by sheer will power to force their conscious mind into compliance to achieve their goals. But will power in and of itself is not an effective use of the mind. Will power is a conscious mind act and does not utilize Universal Law. Will power is good only for so long as the will power is applied. Once it is no longer employed by the thinker, it has no effect on the outcome of one's life.
The "trick" is to use willpower to keep you focused on your spiritual self ... your inner self ... from which all change emanates.
